Co.curricular activities

  • The entire month of October was utilized for Medical check-up of all the students from classes I to XII by Dr. Anjali Aggarwal, MBBS, FCGP (Obstetrician & Gynecologists)

  • On the Occasion of world Teacher’s Day i.e. 05-Oct-2007, Our Principal Dr. (Mrs.) S.P.Shergill was amongst the distinguished Principals awarded by local daily “Amar Ujala” for getting 90% & above result in the C.B.S.E exam 2007.

  • The school has taken initiative to collect money for various charitable institutions.Rs. 750/- was collected for Flag Day, Rs. 10,667/- for Global cancer India & Rs. 5,466/- for Smile Foundation (Child for Child Programme).

  •  “Hindi Maas” was celebrated with due grace and dignity during the entire month of September. Various competitions and lectures were organized in the vidyalaya viz.(a) Hindi Poem Recitation competition, (b) Paper Reading competition, (c) Extempore Competition, (d) General Knowledge Quiz on Hindi language & (e) Essay-Writing Competition.

    On 11th, 12th, 13th & 14th September-2007 Mr. Mukesh Sharma PGT(Hindi), Mr. Vijay Sharma TGT(Hindi), Mrs. Neelam Sharma TGT(Hindi) and Mr. D.K.Narang PGT(Hindi) respectively delivered talks on different aspects of Hindi language.
  • General knowledge competitions on “Nutrition facts” were organized by Maggi and Tupperware on 03-Sep-2007 and 27-Sep-2007 respectively. Children were awarded certificates and prizes.

  • Under National Adolescent Education Programme the following activities were organized:
  1. Poster making competition was organized on 6.10.07. Topics were - ‘Say No To Drugs’, ‘Say No To Smoking’ and ‘AIDS Awareness’. Students from class VI to XII participated in the competition.

  2. Talk on Oral and Dental Health on 1-Nov-2007 by Dr Rajesh Dhir, ENT Specialist and Dr. Shelly, Dental Surgeon. This was followed by clinical session by a team of doctors.

  3. Talk on Healthy Diet on 2-Nov-2007 by Dr. Paramjyoti, SMO Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sec-16 Chandigarh and dieticians Mrs. Megha Aggarwal, Miss. Sulekha and Mrs. Preeti, followed by clinical session by doctors and dieticians.

  4. Talk on ‘Adolescent Problems’ on 3-Nov-2007 by Dr. Paramjyoti, SMO Multi-Specialty Hospital Sector-16, Chandigarh. Afterwards a team of doctors conducted clinical sessions with the students.

  5. Talk on HIV/AIDS Awareness on 5-Nov-2007 by Dr Kavita Chauhan, State AIDS Control Society Chandigarh.
  • 11 students participated in Patrol Leader Training & Testing Camp

  • 834 students of our school participated in colour competition organised by Nutrine Cricket Festival.
